MezanCash is registered as a Money Services Business (MSB) with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) and is committed to full compliance with U.S. financial regulations.
Our Regulatory Obligations
As a registered MSB, MezanCash complies with:
- Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
- FinCEN regulations for money services businesses
- USA PATRIOT Act requirements
- OFAC sanctions screening requirements
Know Your Customer (KYC)
All users must complete identity verification before using transfer or card features. We collect and verify:
- Government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID, driver's license)
- Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement)
- Selfie with ID for liveness verification
- Date of birth and full legal name
Transaction Monitoring
We monitor all transactions for suspicious activity. Transactions may be delayed, held, or reported to authorities if they:
- Exceed reporting thresholds ($10,000+ in a single day)
- Show patterns consistent with structuring or layering
- Involve sanctioned individuals or countries
- Appear inconsistent with the user's stated purpose
Currency Transaction Reports (CTR)
We are required by law to file Currency Transaction Reports for cash transactions exceeding $10,000. We cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory agencies.
Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR)
We file Suspicious Activity Reports when we detect activity that may involve money laundering, fraud, or other financial crimes.
Prohibited Activities
- Money laundering or structuring transactions to avoid reporting
- Funding terrorism or dealings with sanctioned parties
- Fraud, identity theft, or unauthorized account access
- Use of MezanCash for illegal goods or services
